Electronic Technician Level III

Full – Time Position

Job Description:

Thunder Scientific Corp., based in Albuquerque, NM, is the world's leading manufacturer of NIST-proven, two-pressure humidity calibration systems, and has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced Electronic Technician Level III.

Position summarization:

The desired candidate is responsible for troubleshooting all aspects of electrical components, equipment, products, machinery, and/or systems. The candidate will be required to possess advanced knowledge of commonly used electrical concepts, practices, and procedures within a manufacturing setting.

Principle duties include (but are not limited to):

  • Performs quality control checks on electrical/software systems before sending them to other departments
  • Performs a variety of skilled work in the Engineering department related to successful flow of all TSC products
  • Assists the VP of Engineering and VP of Research and Development with electrical testing, analysis, and research
  • Collaborates with all other TSC departments to ensure that customer commitments are met

  • Essential Skills and Experience:

  • A basic knowledge of electrical/electronic concepts, analog and digital design and circuitry
  • Possess the ability to use personal computers for word processing, test result analysis and information retrieval
  • The candidate must have a proven “attention to detail” focus on work assignments
  • Have a solid knowledge of AC and DC electronics to include analog and digital electronic theory, be able to read schematics, and effectively interpret them
  • Possess a friendly, proactive personal style and be a proven team player and exceptional communicator

  • Beneficial Skills and Experience:

  • Circuit simulation, schematic capture, microcontroller knowledge, production test fixture design and support, programming in C, C#, and Visual Basic
  • Must understand how to safely work with pneumatics, fluid pumps and have basic knowledge of HVAC equipment and systems
  • Entrepreneurial small company experience with ability and desire to be hands-on and ‘wear many hats’ when needed

  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision or guidance

  • Experience And Education:

  • 10 years of experience and AS or BS Degree in Electronic Technology, (Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
