Draftsperson: Level I - SolidWorks Designer
Full – Time Position
Job Description:
Thunder Scientific Corporation, in business for over 50 years and a world leader in the manufacture of NIST-proven two-pressure humidity calibration systems.
Thunder has an immediate opening for a full-time experienced SolidWorks Designer/Draftsperson: Level I.
Responsibilities and Duties:
Must be knowledgeable in creating both small and large assemblies; working knowledge of configuration management principles is helpful.
Must possess the technical capability required of a draftsperson in a manufacturing environment
Must be able to read, interpret and implement ISO, ANSI, ASME standards, and any customer-specific requirements
Able to work with minimum supervision and be capable to self-check the completeness and accuracy of work to include technical accuracies and specification compliance
Must have the ability to follow client, industry, in-house standards, and be able to maintain project drawing files and associated records/documentation
Must possess effective problem solving/analysis skills
Must be well organized, a strong communicator and have a team-centered focus, possess a friendly, proactive personal style with exceptional communication skills
Must be a self-starter and able to contribute in design reviews
Critical-thinker. Assist Engineers and other Designers by spotting plan and design problems
Work closely with Engineers and other Designers to help ensure final plans are accurate
Strong interest in product design and development required
Must be drug and alcohol free
Beneficial Skills:
Possess SolidWorks Electrical 3D knowledge
Broad knowledge of technology and ability to assess its implications on business strategy

Can creatively solve problems and provide satisfactory solutions to the customer
Experience And Education:
Must possess Certified SolidWorks Associate (CSWA) accreditation
Associates Degree in a related field and have a minimum of two years of experience with SolidWorks
Computer proficient – MS Office 365 Suite
Physical Challenges:
Must have ability to operate hardware and software supporting the drafting needs of TSC
Consistent sitting for many hours at one time (50%+ of normal shift)
The employee is occasionally required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
