Thunder Scientific's NVLAP Accreditation

Thunder Scientific Corporation is pleased to announce that on June 17, 2003 our Calibration Laboratory received Accreditation from the National Voluntary Laboratory Accreditation Program (NVLAP), administered by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). NVLAP has assigned Laboratory Code 200582-0 to Thunder Scientific, indicating that our accredited calibration services are in compliance with criteria set forth in NIST Handbook 150:2001, all requirements of ISO/IEC 17025:1999, the relevant requirements of ISO 9002:1994, and ANSI/NCSL Z540-1-1994, Part 1.

 

Thunder's Calibration Laboratory now offers NVLAP accredited calibrations for both new and existing humidity generators. Our calibration laboratory can provide a NVLAP accredited calibration for virtually any humidity instrument.

 

Thunder's accredited humidity uncertainties are the lowest commercially available. Calibration reports include as-received and as-left data as well as a concise statement of the method used. Our turn-around times are excellent and prices are very competitive.

Accreditation criteria are published in NIST Handbook 150:2001, NVLAP Procedures and General Requirements. Accreditation is granted following successful completion of a process which includes submission of an application and payment of fees by the laboratory, an on-site assessment, resolution of any deficiencies identified during the on-site assessment, participation in proficiency testing, and technical evaluation. The accreditation is formalized through issuance of a Certificate of Accreditation and Scope of Accreditation and publicized by announcement in various government and private media.

 

NVLAP has Mutual Recognition Arrangements (MRA's) with international accrediting bodies around the world which recognize NVLAP accredited calibration laboratories. More information about the NVLAP program and MRA's can be found at http://www.nist.gov/nvlap.
