Calibration Technician/Assistant Quality Manager

Job Description:
Thunder Scientific Corporation, located in Albuquerque, New Mexico, is seeking a highly motivated, experienced, and trained Calibration Technician/Assistant Quality Assurance Manager for our calibration laboratory located in Albuquerque, New Mexico. - Thorough understanding in the care and use of TMDE.
- Good working knowledge of the calibration and maintenance of physical, dimensional, mechanical and TMDE and calibration laboratory measurement standards.
- Knowledge of electrical theory, electronics and/or physics, and operating principles of TMDE.
- Knowledge required to read, interpret/analyze block, schematic and wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical publications.
- Proficiency in troubleshooting techniques, calibration traceability, metrology techniques and safe laboratory practices.
- Familiarity with ISO/IEC 17025 and ANSI/NCSL Z540 publications a plus.
- Strong Computer skills including MS Office 365 (Word and Excel) and Database (QT9 QMS System).
- Must have strong customer service skills (verbal and written) and be able to work independently.
- Prior experience as a Calibration Laboratory Quality Manager is a strong plus, but not required.
- Once trained, some travel will be required (approx. one week every two to three months) to facilitate on-site calibrations of Thunder Scientific products.
- It is desirable for the incumbent to be a graduate of a Department of Defense Metrology and Calibration formal training course or have equivalent civilian formal training in the field of metrology.
- Minimum four (4) years of experience as a Precision Measurement Equipment Laboratory (PMEL) technician and assistant Quality Assurance Program Manager/Evaluator. Experience shall include inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, overhauling, aligning, calibrating, and certifying TMDE and laboratory working standards using safe working practices and utilizing the required documents/procedures.
- Minimum (2) years of experience working in a PMEL Quality Assurance Department is preferred but not required.
